On Wednesday 28 August our school hosted the annual Japanese Hiragana reading competition. This competition has been running for 20 years and gets bigger and better every year. It is a wonderful opportunity for Year 6 students learning Japanese to showcase their proficiency in reading Hiragana, one of the fundamental scripts in the Japanese language. Students come from all over southern Adelaide to compete in teams of 4, demonstrating their reading speed and accuracy. It is a great way for students to challenge themselves, build confidence and celebrate their progress in Japanese language studies. Our students performed beautifully on the day, despite the nerves and tough competition. Congratulations to Woodend Primary for taking out first place.
